Kaedah Thoracic Stiking Dalam Sembelihan Haiwan
Keputusan:
Muzakarah Khas Jawatankuasa Fatwa Majlis Kebangsaan Bagi Hal Ehwal Ugama Islam Malaysia yang bersidang pada 29 Sep 2005 telah membincangkan Kaedah Thoracic Stiking Dalam Sembelihan Haiwan. Muzakarah telah memutuskan bahawa Kaedah Thoracic Stiking iaitu prosedur tambahan yang digunakan selepas sembelihan adalah dibenarkan dan daging haiwan tersebut adalah halal tertakluk kepada syarat-sarat berikut:

Telah berlaku sembelihan yang sempurna (iaitu telah putus keempat-empat urat Mari', haklum dan wadajain);

Kaedah tersebut dijalankan selepas berlaku pendarahan sempurna(complete bleding) atau selepas 30 saat penyembelihan berlaku;

Binatang tersebut disahkan mati akibat sembelihan dan kaedah Thoracic Stiking hanya sekadar membantu mempercepatkan kematian; dan
- Kaedah ini perlu dikawalselia oleh petugas muslim yang bertauliah.
Keputusan (English):
The Thoracic Sticking Method in the Slaughtering of Animals
Decision:
The Special Muzakarah (Conference) of the Fatwa Committee of the National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs Malaysia held on 29th September 2005 has discussed the Thoracic Sticking Method in the Slaughtering of Animals. The Conference decided that the Thoracic Sticking method, an additional procedure after slaughtering an animal, is permitted and its meat is lawful (halal) with the following conditions:
1. The slaughter is complete (by severing the four major vessels: the windpipe (trachea), gullet (oesophagus) and two jugular veins);
2. The Thoracic Sticking method is performed only after complete bleeding or 30 seconds after the slaughter;
3. The animal died because of the slaughtering and the Thoracic Sticking method only functions to speed up the death; and
4. This method must be supervised by an accredited Muslim personnel.
