Pelaksanaan Ibadat Di International Space Station (ISS)

Keputusan: 

Muzakarah Jawatankuasa Fatwa Majlis Kebangsaan Bagi Hal Ehwal Ugama Islam Malaysia Kali Ke-76 yang bersidang pada 21 - 23 November 2006 telah membincangkan Pelaksanaan Ibadat Di International Space Station (ISS). Muzakarah telah memutuskan bahawa:

  1. Penggunaan tisu yang telah disediakan di International Space Station (ISS) sebagai alat beristinja' adalah harus.
     
  2. Harus bertayammum dengan apa sahaja yang berasal dari bumi (contohnya ISS) sebagai kaedah mengangkat hadas.
     
  3. Solat ditunaikan sebanyak lima kali untuk tempoh 24 jam (hari di bumi) dan boleh ditunaikan secara jamak dan qasar dan tidak perlu diqada.
     
  4. Waktu solat dan puasa di ISS adalah mengikut waktu tempat pelepasan.
     
  5. Penentuan arah qiblat hendaklah dengan cara menghadap kaabah dan sekiranya sukar, bolehlah menghadap ke mana-mana arah.

Performing Worship at the International Space Station

Decision:

The 76th Muzakarah (Conference) of the Fatwa Committee of the National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs Malaysia held on 21st-23rd November 2006 has discussed Performing Worship at the International Space Station (ISS). The Conference decided that:

1. Using tissues provided at the International Space Station (ISS) as a tool for the cleaning of the body (istinja’) is permissible.

2. It is permissible to perform tayammum (dry ablution using sand or dust) from anything that originates from the earth (such as the ISS) as a means to purify the body from impurities (hadas).

3. Prayers must be performed five times in a 24-hour period (according to earth time) and can be combined (jama’) or shortened (qasar) without the need to perform it again (qada’).

4. The time of prayers and fasting at the ISS must be based on the time at the place of departure.

5. The determination of the direction of the qiblah is by facing the Kaabah and if it is difficult to do so, one can face any direction that is possible.
